Amit Maheshwari is the Managing Partner and International tax lead of AKM Global, one of the leading firms of chartered accountants in India with offices in Gurgaon, New Delhi and Mumbai.

Amit’s expertise in cross border tax and regulatory, has helped him in successfully advising several Fortune 500, Fortune 1000, Listed Multinationals, large Indian companies, expatriates, Exciting Startups and Non-resident Indians on a host of issues like Expatriate assignments, FDI Policy, entry strategy, setting up offices in India, cross border tax structuring, transfer pricing, mergers & acquisitions, inbound and outbound investment structuring, fund structuring, NRI taxation, tax controversy matters and other regulatory matters.

Besides advising top multinational clients, Amit is an avid author on tax and regulatory issues and a regular speaker at a number of international conferences on India Entry Strategy, International tax and Transfer Pricing. He actively contributes his views on International Tax, Transfer Pricing and Exchange Control Regulations to the known domestic and international publishing houses as well as Television Channels including HT Mint, The Economic Times, The Times of India, Press Trust of India, Daily News and Analysis, Business Standard, The Financial Express, The Hindu Business Line, Moneycontrol, Business Today, NDTV Profit, Zee News, Tax Analysts of US,The Print, DNA India, Reuters, Nasdaq, CNBC TV 18, Deccan Herald, etc.

Amit has co-authored “Expatriate Taxation - Decoding the Complexity", on Income-tax and Regulatory aspects applicable to expatriates in India (including their employers), which was published by Wolters Kluwer (CCH) and is currently running into second edition. He has also co-authored a publication, “Transfer Pricing – a Practical perspective” published by Lexis Nexis. He has also contributed a chapter "Anti-Avoidance and Transfer Pricing Issues: focus on India" to a book titled “International Tax Avoidance” published by CCH, Italy and authored by Prof. Piergiorgio Valente a renowned author and tax advisor in Italy.

To serve the industry, Amit is active in various industry chambers. He is the member of Taxation Committee of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry), Special invitee to the CII’s (Confederation of Indian Industry) Delhi State council and Co-chair of the Trade and Development Committee of IACC (“Indian American Chamber of Commerce”).
